“New Rules”
1. YOU MUST: Write everything down
In the beginning, you need to take a full inventory of what’s in your mind. You will succeed in Empting Your Head if you allow yourself the courtesy of empting it on paper first = room for new thoughts to flow easily.
2. YOU MUST NOT: Think out loud
People don’t enjoy hearing all the unorganized thoughts you have in your head. Move on to another conversation or ask the other person to give you a few moments or call a person back… so you allow yourself some time to sort out what your thoughts and decisions are. People are much more willing to give you some time and space vs having to go through your thought process with you. Not every conversation is a brainstorming session!
3. YOU MUST: Figure out How you feel
You need to work over your emotions a bit and give your head a break. You can only think so many thoughts. Now you must feel those feelings. Again, take your time or make time for you to explore what you feel about things. Ask yourself, “How does this feel to me?” Do this all the time, with EVERYTHING-until you automatically can express your feelings.
